Palace Jewelers is a family-owned business since it was founded in 1932 by “Grandpa” Baumbach at the Palace Theater in Flint. Many of his sons followed him in the trade, and Randy Baumbach took over the Davison location in 1981.
After many successful years, Randy and his wife, Maria, started construction of the current location in 1992. Th expanded both their own business and added new retail space. Thus, by following their vision and continuing their financial support for the Davison area, Randy and Maria were able to expand downtown Davison with six new business sites which to this day still provide a diversified local business climate.
Palace Jewelers is a full-service jewelry store offering clock repair by Randy’s brother, Ron Baumbach, with over 50 years’ experience; Randy and Maria’s son, Joe Baumbach, specializes in watch service and repair, and is the store manager; on-site jeweler, Thor Bacon, performs the jewelry design and repair. Today, Maria owns and operates the store with the support and commitment of her son Joe and his wife Tricia. Maria says most of her customers are local, but she also has loyal customers coming from other states. She often tells her customers, “It is by the Grace of God and good customers like you that keep us here.” She also emphasizes, “Our employees have a heart for our customers – they truly care about them.”
The store has been blessed with many faithful employees over the years. Currently on staff are JoAnn Sark, Linda McKeever, and John Psaros.
Palace Jewelers is your local connection to buy and sell gold, diamonds, silver and platinum. They are happy to help with new settings and expert mounting of all stones.
